We recently delivered a timing system for speed skating to the Oulunkylä artificial ice track in Helsinki. The system consists of Microgate REI2 timer, Polifemo photocells, wireless LinkGate system for starter, and Windows-based timing software.
Software enables easy handling of pair starts as well as quartet starts with a single REI2 timer. The timing program also runs the displayboard at the stadium.

LinkGate system enables wireless transmission of start signals from starter to REI2. When moving from one start location to another there is no need to move and connect/disconnect the start signal cabling. In addition, if FinishLynx photofinish is used, the same system can be used to start the timer of the camera.
Scoreboard is controlled with the timing software through RS-485 line. With four lines it is possible to show running time, finish and intermediate times for all competitors in a quartet.
